![]() ![]() Now.I have to say something about food and liquor establishments that have anything to do with "fire" in their names, especially in my neck of the woods.they burn down. Fast forward to a more modern was Murphy's Tavern (the owner tried to sell the place and ultimately died), and later on it became Callam's Tavern which had some kitchen cleanliness issues that I won't delve into since the family gave up their tavern (they still own the building) and the tavern was remodeled and it became the Oak & Embers Tavern. Never supporting them ever again and I’ll do my damn beat to spread the word about the culture embodied within corporate.Oak & Embers Tavern first opened up in a historical building which once housed the "famed" Shenendoah Restaurant in the 1960's or so.it was considered "out in the boon docks" but was a very nice restaurant way back then. His reply: “I am f*cking corporate, get the hell out of here!” ![]() ![]() I could feel his negative energy from the start and I said “nevermind I can tell you’re not open to hearing any feedback, I’ll call corporate.” He came out with attitude from the get go with his defense ready. One of the managers brings it out and practically throws it on the table.Īt the end of dinner, I asked to speak with a a manager. We let them know and asked for fresh ones. Meanwhile a table sat next to us gets their food brought out ten minutes after ordering while we were still waiting. It took well over 30 minutes to get our food and when it came out all the sweet potato fries and my onion rings were cold. ![]() I have frequented the Hudson location numerous times with my company’s management team. We have been eating her for about five years, both at the Chesterland and Hudson location. She did, however, remark that she thought my meal looked incredible! More I am sorry I do not remember our server's name as I would ask for her again! I noticed that the prices were a few dollars higher than a place closer to home, but it was worth it, however, the restaurant was close to empty for this Friday, birthday lunch! I feel sorry that we did not ask if they have other sauces as the one on my chicken was very sweet and delicious but my friend, who had a birthday, did not enjoy it. The corn bread was fluffy and had a glaze that was maple and butter! My family lives in Texas, so I know and appreciate good food! My friend ended up with an angus burger, and ordered brussel sprouts which were maybe a bit over-fried and perhaps over-crispy, but she loved her burger! The service was excellent and our server was wonderful. My other side dish was the best cheesy grits this side of the Mississippi. I chose the famous apple cole slaw which was delicious with tiny apple sticks in addition to cabbage. I would like a hotter sauce but my friend would have preferred a milder one. The barbecue sauce is very sweet and has a slight kick to it, which I love. The hostess brought everything out together after we each had water with lemon. My chicken came with corn bread, the choice of 2 sides, and I asked for extra sauce but please, no extra salt. I did not want to carry a cake for 2 and my friend did not want dessert at the end of the meal. They offered a candle if we had dessert and said that I could bring in a birthday cake. When I made the reservation on the phone, I explained it was a birthday. The Oak and Embers did not offer a grilled chicken breast for my friend, although they have pulled chicken, fried chicken, and turkey wraps. being able to cut it but our waitress assured me that I would be able to cut the chicken into pieces and it was correct. I had the 1/2 chickenīarbecue which had more dark meat than white. It was a hot day and we felt like eating chicken. I took a friend to the Oak and Embers Tavern in Chesterland for a birthday lunch.
